- Lego Robotics for Beginners

If your child loves Lego and is interested in developing skills in the areas of science and computing, they might want to book into our introductory Lego Robotics session. Participants will be involved in a hands-on, project-based activity and will introduce them to the concept of robotics. This involves designing a creation and bringing it to life with computer software. Places are strictly limited, so please ensure bookings are made for each child per family. Social distancing measures will be put in place. Each robotics session is a repeat session, so please only book your child in for one session. Parents are not required to stay. Join for a fun storytime with books featuring Macca the Alpaca. Enjoy some craft activities including a Macca the Alpaca mask and some shakers so you can be like Al and Macca in Alpacas with Maracas. Visit the library for a hands-on session of craft. Participants can choose to make two crafts to create and take home. Activities to choose from include creating a trapeze sloth, decorating a Japanese fan, constructing a 3D sailboat or creating a wooden nutcracker toy. Learn how to make a beaded necklace or lanyard with a local artist from Holly & Twig. This hands-on workshop will teach basic skills used in jewellery making and participants will be able to take their creation home. This is an introductory workshop for those who are keen to play D&D but don't know where to start. This workshop will cover the roles of Dungeon Master and players, how to create characters and how to get started on an adventure. Still Life with Sally

Still life is way more than a pretty arrangement of static objects. A still life can tell stories about life today and about the people that own the objects. Learn how to bring these stories to life in this two hour workshop. After storytelling warm up activities, create your own still life arrangement and draw and paint from life. Please bring along two - three objects for your arrangement.
