Normally, the school joins St Joseph's and Trinity Catholic College in sleeping over at Trinity and only have soup to put students in the shoes of those less fortunate than them.
However, it was not possible this year due to COVID-19 guidelines.
"Over $300 was raised by students across the school and was a wonderful way to celebrate the school's special day, to help the local community and to join together in fun," SS Peter and Paul's Primary School coordinator Gregory Angus said.
The event has been going for many years now and is organised by MiniVinnies which is a student group dedicated to social justice and charitable action.
MiniVinnies Emma Seaman explained the importance of the event.
"This event helps people who are less fortunate than us who might need necessities like food and winter clothing," Emma said.
"This is an especially tough winter with COVID-19 happening."
Year 6 MiniVinnies Sophie Smithers and Bailey Cockburn said it was very different to previous years.
"Planning activities was a challenge because of social distancing," Sophie said.
"We restricted from some of our old favourites like serving food and colouring each other's hair, so we had to plan for fun activities that used more space and followed guidelines."
"It was a bit confusing at first but we learned new managing and organising skills," Bailey said.
Some of the activities on the day included a football skills obstacle course, sack races, charades and a mini catapult launch.
Religious education coordinator Louise Seaman was impressed with her year 6 organisers.
"They were so creative and really rose to the challenge of putting on an event like like this in our current circumstances," Ms Seaman said.
"They kept our focus on having fun in a safe, responsible way."
