Despite the vast majority of our scientists warning of and predicting the dangers of our worsening climate apparently all one has to do is read a "good" book and it just all disappears.
Providing, of course, the book tells you what you want to hear.
Forget the unprecedented bush-fires we all endured last summer.
Forget the melting glaciers and polar ice-caps. Forget the increasing frequency, intensity and duration of drought.
Forget the rising sea-levels. Forget the mega-storms of increasing frequency.
Apparently we should all settle down in an arm-chair put on our slippers and read a book that reassures, that says what we'd like to believe and, poof, everything is hunky-dory.
Really, you have to despair at the attitude of mind.
