The NSW government has announced some good news for small businesses impacted by the recent bushfires and COVID-19 pandemic across the Goulburn Mulwaree region.

Some $1,794,489 was received in support across three grant programs including the Small Business Bushfire Recovery Grant with funds of up to $50,000 for eligible small businesses directly impacted by the bushfires, as well as two Small Business Support Grant that allow up to $10,000 for businesses affected by bushfires or COVID-19.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman revealed the figures for Goulburn Mulwaree Council LGA and encouraged all businesses across the Goulburn electorate to check their eligibility for business support.
"The Small Business Bushfire Recovery Grant has received 11 applications, distributing a total of $415,489," Ms Tuckerman said.
"The $10,000 Small Business Bushfire Support Grant has received 63 applications, distributing a total of $630,000.
"Finally, the Small Business Covid Support Grant has received 76 applications, distributing a total of $749,000 across Goulburn Mulwaree.
"Small businesses in Goulburn have been affected by drought, bushfires and now the COVID-19 crisis.
"Every dollar of government support makes a difference and works to keep locals in jobs.
"I know that to keep our region going, we need to support our small businesses wherever we can."
"These programs are all about keeping people in jobs and businesses in business as we turn our attention from response to recovery."
Goulburn Mulwaree mayor Bob Kirk said "it was great to see the figures".
"In the conversations I've had with business owners around the region, they have found the application processes to be simple to navigate.
"In the past few weeks I've sensed a positive swing among businesses as restrictions have eased and I'm looking forward to the second half of 2020 when we hopefully see a strong finish to the year for business."
There was also $100,000 awarded to Goulburn Mulwaree Council which will allow for development of a community event and construction of a sculpture garden in Tallong as well as business resilience workshops in Goulburn.
