A new fitness training facility is close to completion in the western end of town.
Leah Doyle from Viva Leisure says "We're extremely excited to be opening our first hiit republic in Goulburn late July."
The company already provides two fitness venues nearby, with Club Lime gyms at Unit 2 110 Hume Street and Unit 4 130 Landsdowne Street.
The new fit-out for hiit republic is being conducted at 98 Hume Street, Goulburn, in the building that once was The Black Sheep pub.
Existing members can upgrade their memberships to include hiit republic, while new members can choose to have access to either or both of these fitness brands.
"Goulburn has a fantastic community, with incredible people, so we're thrilled to be opening our doors and welcoming everybody," Ms Doyle continued.
"This new site adds to the current Viva Leisure offering in the region, with both Club Lime - Hume Street and Club Lime - Lansdown Street surrounding our new hiit republic location. This third site creates an additional fitness facility for the community to enjoy."
The first Club Lime in Goulburn opened in February 2018 and the second site was added in March 2019.
Matt Eikenhout from Viva Leisure says that Club Lime's facilities at Hume Street are perfect for those looking to use the cardio and resistance equipment, while Landsdowne Street enjoys a 300 square metre space for fitness classes that makes compliance with the current social distancing requirements very easy.
The addition of hiit republic offers another form of fitness classes. Their description says "each hiit republic workout is uniquely programmed by our coaches, and never the same as a previous class. Our workouts range from high-intensity cardio to strength building sessions, and sometimes a bit of both."
hiit republic will have five or six classes per day during the week lasting 45 minutes each, plus one or two classes on Saturday mornings for an hour each.
On top of that, the facilities at hiit republic will be available to members 24/7, just as they are at Club Lime for those members already.
HOW TO STAY SAFE
- Book via your member's portal for group classes to ensure the maximum number per class remains limited to 20.
- Continue the same 1.5m of social distancing you do everywhere else.
- As always, no towel, no train
- Wipe each piece of equipment before and after you use it.
- If you can, arrive changed and ready to go to minimise the number of people in the change rooms (ie. just those showering and changing afterwards).
There are also other procedures in place. The equipment at 110 Hume Street for example, has been spaced a bit further apart now. Scanning in with your membership to access the facilities will allow contact tracing if necessary. Professional cleaning is done more often than it already was. And the helpful staff are also on hand during business hours ensuring everyone's compliance so please be cooperative.
