The house windows in the book include examples from the 1860s to the 1940s.
"These include the grander Federation and Queen Anne styles between 1880-1910 all the way through to the simpler architecture and windows of the later period. Eight of the dwellings were listed on the Register of the National Trust and have local heritage significance," the book states.
The book includes a variety of stained glass windows from churches to houses to public buildings.
Mrs Ferrar is no stranger to Goulburn. Born here in 1946, she attended North Goulburn Primary School and Goulburn High School.
She is aware of the variety of buildings in the city and the "lovely glass" in the churches here.
"A short course in making stained glass in Canberra sparked my interest in the field, particularly also with the knowledge of the extent of glass represented in Goulburn in its historic houses," Mrs Ferrar said.
"I tackled this project in 1987 by attempting to identify all the houses in Goulburn with stained glass windows and wrote to each of those owners requesting permission to photograph their heritage.
"Not everyone was willing but many people were very happy to allow me access into their homes, for which I thank them.
"My mother accompanied me on this project over many weekends in 1987-1988, taking notes and connecting with the owners, many of whom she knew."
The idea to come up with a book came after she found the slides in a box one day.
"I realised that I need to do something and scanned them so that I can use them as a digital source for the book."
Mrs Ferrar is keen to connect with Goulburn residents who would like their heritage documented and design a follow-up supplementary volume.
"I am well aware that there are other hidden gems in Goulburn. It would only take a few months to complete if that were so, and people could contact me through the Goulburn Post," she said.
The hardcover of the publication is available here and the softcover version will be available soon.
