The project involves Goulburn-based writers, between the age of 10-12 years, who have written plays about issues that are important to them.
Themes of friendship, family, and triumph over adversity run strongly through the 11 plays which were filmed over the weekend.
Erin Williams, Goulburn Mulwaree Library manager, said that the filming went very well and the cast and the crew did an amazing job.
"The cast performed each of the 11 plays three times over the course of two days that were filmed. It was a new experience for them since they are used to performing in front of a live audience at the theatre," she said.
There were 16 cast members between the age group of 11-70 years, four crew members and volunteers present for the filming.
Interviews with the young writers and their mentors about the writing and mentoring processes, stories, and plays will also be filmed soon.
The project is run by Goulburn Mulwaree Library, in partnership with the Lieder Theatre Company, Greg Angus, and Field and Film.
The project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Department of Communications and the Arts' Festivals Australia program.
When the library received a grant funding through Festivals Australia for the project, the plan was to have a live performance in the theatre by adult actors in March this year.
However, those plans had to be put on hold due to COVID-19 and now the performances are being filmed.
