In these tumultuous times it has never been more important to raise awareness, show support and campaign for those in need.
The NSW Police Force is signatory to the Protocol for Homeless People in Public Places.
This is an agreement between Government organisations to ensure that homeless people are treated respectfully and offered assistance, while appropriate action is taken regarding health and safety risks.

Homeless people have the same entitlement as any member of the public to move about within their community, attend public events or activities, and carry with them or store their belongings.
They should not be approached unless in need of assistance, are engaged for the exchange of information regarding the provision of a service, are at risk, posing a risk to others, or engaged in unlawful behaviour.
Police regularly collaborate with tireless organisations such as Anglicare and Mission Australia to establish strategies to help those in need.
