Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the expansion of the Sustaining Tenancies in Social Housing is another example of the NSW Government's work to prevent and respond to homelessness during the pandemic.

"This program provides vulnerable social housing tenants with one-on-one tailored case management to address complex needs such as mental health issues or drug and alcohol abuse," Mrs Tuckerman said.

"We don't want people to fall through the cracks and into homelessness, and this program is about taking proactive steps to address issues and prevent homelessness."

Hundreds of people have already benefited from the program in the Murrumbidgee and Western Sydney, with the expansion to Goulburn to provide life-changing benefits for some of the community's most vulnerable people.

Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said the NSW Government had invested more than $70m in homelessness and housing support during the pandemic.

"Secure housing is the cornerstone of a happy and healthy life, and our government is working hard to achieve that for vulnerable people across our state," Mr Ward said.

"This program provides tenants with one-on-one tailored case management to address complex needs such as mental health issues or drug and alcohol abuse."
