"You are only as old as you feel. People put emphasis on the number of years but that's not what it's really about," he said.
"I embrace change and think outside the square, endeavouring to improve the way we do things."
Born in West Wyalong in 1957, he has been in Goulburn district for around 42 years.
He is an auctioneer, sheep and cattle assessor, and stud stock specialist.
"I love living here. It's a diverse agricultural area, good for business and in close proximity to all the big cities," Mr Ridley said.
He believes in giving back to the community and is part of several charities and fundraising events including Convoy for Kids, Can Assist and Cancer Council.
"I have been fortunate in my life and want to give back to the community. Lots of people have helped me and I want to give back," he said.

"My occupation is more of a lifestyle than a job, so it really gets me out of bed in the morning and drives me to do bigger and better things.
"I'll never refuse a request to support any community event and have regularly done so with my auctioneering."
His portrait by photographer Tina Milson is part of the 'The Art of Ageing 2020' exhibition.
The exhibition celebrates the contribution of people over 50 years make to their communities and seeks to increase their participation in the arts and cultural activities, as part of the NSW Ageing Strategy.
She wanted to choose those who give back to the community.
"I am proud to be a part of the exhibition. I think it's a great concept because people over 50 years have so much to offer to the community," he said.
He encourages youths to give back to the community.
"Good things in the community cannot happen if the people are not involved in it. The communities need people to take the initiative to organise events, raise funds to run things and support community," he said.
