Despite being surrounded by difficult circumstances, Jack Bell did not give up on his dreams.
As a child, he faced tough conditions at home where he grew up with four sisters and one brother.
"It was a bit of rough home life. I am close to my siblings as we all got through it together," he said.
"It became harder for me to handle it after my siblings left the house."
Mr Bell followed into the footsteps of his brother and started getting more and more involved in various activities at the theatre.
"Going to Lieder Theatre at that time was a saving grace for me from that situation," he said.
He calls Lieder Theatre in Goulburn his second home and says that it has "well and truly shaped who I am today".
The 23-year-old is now the treasurer of Lieder Theatre and a committee member.
"I learned my life lessons at the theatre. People there treated each other with respect and care which I picked up too," he said.
"As I grew older, my responsibilities and duties at the theatre increased which helped me become who I am today."
His passion lies in circus arts and would like to perform one day.
He has fulfilled another one of his dreams and will be studying the Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Canberra starting next year.
"It's important to not let your negative surroundings shape who you become as a person. There is always a choice to be better than where you have come from," he said.
"Just because I grew up in such a condition, doesn't mean I have to end up in the same way."
