New data has revealed the leading causes of death for women and men in the Goulburn Mulwaree region.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) released the figures on August 7, which was collected data between 2014 to 2018.
The second highest cause for women was coronary heart disease followed by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease rounded out the top three causes of death for men.
The median age of death for women dropped four years from 83 in 2014 to 79 in 2018.
The median age of death for men has slightly improved from 77 years to 78 years.
There were 305 premature deaths for men under 75 from 2014 to 2018, and 202 premature deaths for women.
Of these premature deaths, there were 155 potentially avoidable deaths for men and 101 deaths for women.
