A man and his two dogs are safe after a ute drove into floodwaters on Monday.

They said due to recent heavy rain the Bolong River had cut the Tyrl Tyrl Road. The depth indicator at the crossing on police arrival was at 1.5 metres.
"The man attempted to drive across the crossing, but due to the fast-flowing flood waters, the utility was pushed into the river," police said.
"The man managed to escape from his utility, along with two working dogs which were in the rear tray and climbed a tree."
Emergency services were contacted and officers from The Hume Police District with the assistance of local SES crews rescued the man and his dogs.
