Organiser Neil Penning said that "it's a bit like starting again for us."

"Do not expect anything big as we start again. We expect to gradually grow with people's patience," he said.

"A lot of people who relied on this as their livelihood had to take other initiatives when the markets were closed during the lockdown period. So, several such people have dropped out of the markets altogether."

He further said that it provides an opportunity for new people to set up their stall.

The markets are held on every second Saturday of the month at Montague Street by the Rotary Club of Goulburn.

They have several stalls including those of local arts, crafts, produce, plants, fresh flowers, and food.

"The objective of having a community market is for its members to congregate and spend money to support small businesses in town," Mr Penning said.

"The market is ever-evolving because it's an outdoor site and is affected by the weather."

After the COVID-19 pandemic, he feels that things are a bit uncertain at the moment.

"It is a very fluid situation. Just like any enterprise, you open the shop door and hope for the best," he said.

They have a COVID safe plan in place for the markets and will have signages and hand sanitising stations on site.

Stall holders have also been asked to have their COVID safe plans.

The plans to hold the markets on Saturday, August 8 were shelved due to wild weather conditions.
