She leaves behind her children Margaret, Jacquie and Lionel Hart and grandchildren Timothy Williams, Shaun Williams, Steven Hart and Preston Hart.
The biggest thing Margaret will remember is how her mother was always there for her.
Kath celebrated her 104th birthday in June on a day Margaret said was the best she had seen her for a while, but a fall a few weeks later was the final straw.
"She fractured her femur," Margaret said.
"Unfortunately, falls aren't something old people get over."
Growing up, Kath was frequently out in the country helping her relatives and didn't do much schooling.
She became a nurse at Kenmore Hospital in 1936 until she married butcher Lionel Hart in 1939.

She loved sports, especially the Canberra Raiders, the Workers Football Club, tennis and played lawn bowls.
She was best known as one of the founding members of the Goulburn Soldiers Club.
Jaquie described her mother as "very quiet and independent, with a fairly social life".
"She gave up a lot to look after us and made sure we all had a good education.
"We all ended up going to TAFE."
