The council's manager of infrastructure delivery, Scott Parsons, said an audit was held in June to ensure the safety and working order of playgrounds in 22 parks.
"A few pieces of equipment... needed to be removed or blocked off, including [sic] same swings, a monkey bar and a slippery dip."
The defects included insufficient clearances around the playground equipment, entrapments or corrosion of metal.
The parks that did not pass inspection were in Taralga, Gunning, Laggan and Dalton. A swing set at Burge Park in Taralga did not pass inspection; a swing set and monkey bars at Laggan Park; a swing set at Barbour Park, and; all the play equipment at Dalton Playground.
The council said unsafe equipment was either removed or fenced off as soon as the risk was identified.
Staff will now consider the long-term future for play structures.
