After allegations of secrecy and withholding information the remaining councillors are positive about the current state of the council.
Australian Community Media approached the seven councillors to respond to issues of its processes, operations, and transparency.
1. Are you meeting your election campaign promises?
2. Do you believe you, or members of the council, need further training in the procedures of local government?
3. Do you believe the council requires an investigation into its conduct as is the case at the Wingecarribee Shire Council?
A media release signed by all of the councillors stated:
"The seven councillors that serve Upper Lachlan Shire are an enthusiastic, dedicated team, committed to ensuring we serve a full term in the interests of our very diverse and far ranging community.
"As a united council, we are committed to transparency. Our meetings and forward plans are well publicised, available for all to see, and all the councillors welcome community feedback."
In August, the council was criticised by resigning councillors Richard Opie and Ron Cummins for a lack of transparency and recognition of core values, including good governance and representing the interests of local residents.
It was alleged, at the August council meeting, that the council withheld questions of notice from the business papers that may have exposed prior knowledge of the disrepair of some infrastructure in the local government area, including the Crookwell Swimming Pool.
Further, the council was criticised for its rate of spending on roads, bridges and lack of spending on recreation, culture and tourism and infrastructure.
