While many other businesses around Goulburn have closed, Made By Me has seen an increase in customers since the coronavirus lockdown eased.
With the abundance of fast fashion in most retail stores today, Made By Me is a refreshing change. The store offers hand-made clothes, hats, bags and other items.
Kylie Walsh, her partner Daniel Graham and their two children: Elijah and Jayden are all involved in running the store.
Made by Me opened in March but the family was forced to close the storefront for two and a half months during lockdown. They have recently re-opened the Russell Lane shop.
Surprisingly, Kylie said the closure was "the best thing that happened".
The business owner had the opportunity to "stop for a while" and "revamp" the store.
Now the family stocks not just handmade clothing but hats, socks, ties and all sorts of quirky items.
For 14 years Kylie sold her handmade creations at the Bus Depot Markets in Canberra before making the move to Goulburn a year and a half ago.
When it comes to the philosophy behind Kylie's clothes she "doesn't follow trends".
"I do what I Iove," she said.
"It's purely a gut feeling when it comes to fabrics and colours.
"If I love it there are going to be other people [with similar tastes]."
The self-taught seamstress focuses on quirky prints and vibrant colours that are still wearable.
"I don't want to create something you can get at Kmart," she said.
"There is a story behind everything in here.
"I like basic shapes and comfortable but really funky fabrics."
While the store has it's quiet days, loyal customers and residents going out of their way to support local business have helped the store become a success.
Kylie said business had even grown over the past few months.
