The new Thornford Road Bridge has been completed nine months earlier than expected, with the two lane structure in Currawang now open for use.

Some $423,826 was received through the Federal Government Bridges Renewal Program, with Council matching the funding to bring the total to $847,652.
Transbridge Group began work in March this year, and although they faced flooding and difficult weather, Transbridge has completed the project ahead of schedule.

Goulburn Mulwaree mayor Bob Kirk and federal member for Hume Angus Taylor inspected the bridge on Friday.
"Thornford Road is a key link between the Federal Highway and Currawang Road," Cr Kirk said.
"Replacement of this bridge, which was one of the last remaining timber structures in our region, means an improved stock route for the farmers in the area.
"I would also like to acknowledge the ongoing success of the Bridges Renewal Program which we have been able to take advantage of significantly in the past five years with the replacement of bridges such as the Komungla Bridge and Kippilaw Bridge."
"This has been a fantastic program for regional areas like Goulburn Mulwaree providing Council with the funds to fix and replace ageing local bridges," Mr Taylor said.
"The completion of this bridge will mean a safer trip for farmers and residents regularly travelling on Thornford Road."
Goulburn Mulwaree Council would like to thank residents for their patience throughout the project, which meant a detour route was in place for access.
