After a highside crash ended his promising start at Donington Park in Derby and left Toparis with a broken wrist, the Goulburn-based rider was still unable to compete in round four last weekend.
However, the 20-year-old's strong performance prior to his crash has left him confident he will be competitive on return.
"I honestly didn't know what to expect heading into the weekend, having never ridden on any of the notoriously hard BSB circuits, and without any pre-season testing," Toparis said.
"I knew it wouldn't be as smooth sailing like Assen was last year. I aimed to be in the Top 10 regardless, so after qualifying fourth, I was over the moon."
Round five will take place at Donington Park, while round six will be at Brands Hatch in Longfield, and Toparis is hopeful he will be able to continue his strong form after a long layoff.
"Yes, we will 100 per cent be returning for the last two races of the season," he said.
"Hopefully I'm in a condition again where we can be challenging like we were at round one. It's hard to say, I'm still yet to get back on the bike.
"We have a ride day booked for next week, so hopefully these injuries don't hinder me too much and we can continue back where we left off."
Though he has been relegated to the sidelines for the last month-and-a-half, Toparis has not let slip his positive attitude and said he was "lucky not to be more badly injured".
"It just happened so quickly, and after watching it over about a hundred times, it's a corner where you either need to be on the kerb, or completely on the tar itself, and my wheels were in the middle on the line.
"It definitely caught me by surprise, I didn't feel like I was doing anything erratic either. It was early in the race and I was just settling in."
While the injury has largely curtailed Toparis' plans for a run at the championship, he hopes to begin building towards the 2021 season with some strong results in coming rounds.
"In a condensed season, returning prematurely is something that we've been careful to avoid. I'd rather be fit for the start of next season than to come back and further delay my wrist's recovery," he said.
During his recovery, Toparis has spent his time helping the team prepare and watching a multitude of motorsport around the world. While the youngster has enjoyed the break, he admitted that he is now itching to make his return to the competitive scene.
"Yes, this nice summer weather has made the recovery time much more pleasant," he said.
"The weekends have been filled with non-stop MotoGP, BSB, WorldSBK, F1 viewing. It's frustrating to be watching from the lounge. I can't wait to get back and be part of it."
Round five of the British Championship will take place at Donington Park from October 2-4.
