It is a year that at the best of times can be approached with mixed emotions.
The sense of trepidation as the expectations of the school, family and the students themselves can weigh heavy.
Achieving the academic goals in terms HSC results and future study and career paths are at the forefront of the thoughts of most Year 12 students.

But there has also been that sense of excitement with rites of passage enjoyed by most past Year 12 students.
This includes involvement in the final major school sports events, last day activities, formals, schoolies, the formation of special bonds with other members of the graduating class, valedictory dinners and more.
Unfortunately for the Year 12 Class of 2020 many of these activities have been cancelled or restricted - through no fault of their own, or anyone else for that matter.
The global COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictions have prompted these changes.
The graduating year could have hung their heads in despair, but instead Year 12 students of 2020 have raised their heads above the challenges.
The have sought new ways to make memories and developed a very special quality that will serve them well throughout life - Resilience.
Congratulations to all these young people.
Here is hoping for great results in your HSC exams and great achievements in the future.
Top marks go to you all for your approach to a final school year like no other.
Best wishes are extended to all Year 12 students from the entire team at Goulburn Post.
Go forth and prosper.
