A traditional shop-front competition has Auburn Street dotted with lilac themed windows although this year will be a little different. Based on advice from NSW Health the 69th Annual Lilac City Festival will be a totally contact free event with the shop-front and Garden competitions being conducted virtually to abide with social distancing requirements and the beloved markets and Joyland carnival unfortunately cancelled.
The Goulburn Lilac City Fun Run and Canoe Races along the Wollondilly River will go ahead. Social distancing will be maintained with marshalling along the course.
The Canoe Race is open to Canoes and Kayaks of all shapes and sizes, setting off from Roberts Park, near the PCYC with all water safe requirements enforced.
Bush Traditions Sessions

An evening of Australian folk music - songs, dance, tunes, poems and more.
They encourage participation, so bring voices and instruments and join in on the first Friday of each month. A booklet of local dance tunes has been compiled to use at the sessions or you can join in and sing along by ear.
Enjoy a Folk Ring where they each choose an item in turn as a request or to lead.
Also, each month has a theme to focus interest on where songs and poems are hunted out, practised and performed, reflecting a different aspect of their heritage.
