The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has urged residents to prepare for the fire season by completing a bush fire survival plan.

Residents should prepare their property by removing flammable materials from their yards, clearing gutters of leaves, checking hoses and, where appropriate, conducting hazard reduction activities.
Fire permits for burning will be required from October 1 from a nearby fire station, and residents must give neighbours and the local fire authority 24-hours notice.
"With summer conditions becoming more conducive to the spread of fire, people need to be extremely careful when using fire," RFS Inspector George Shepherd said.
"Never leave a fire unattended and if a fire does escape, it is essential to call triple zero (000) immediately so that emergency services can respond accordingly and minimise the damage."
On days of total fire bans, all permits for burning in the open are revoked.
