As the newest editor and member of the Goulburn Post team I feel humbled to become a part of this iconic entity within the community. I am in awe of the people before me who drove the continued success of this paper and were integral in its longevity.
I am honoured to be a part its future at possibly one of the most significant turning points in the history of the newspaper industry - the move towards news online, immediate and at you fingertips, without even leaving home - albeit in the middle of a pandemic.

The transition has had its challenges - and the concept of the physical newspaper is still valued by many - but that aforementioned pandemic has, perhaps, had some benefits in demonstrating the value of news delivered online.
I think of those industry pioneers, those forward-thinking characters who, 150 years ago, took a leap into the unknown when they decided to publish the Goulburn Post. I also think of those who battled through various other challenging times in history - wars, another global pandemic with the Spanish Flu, recessions, depressions and industry changes.
They rose to challenges and worked through them so that we can now look back on a century and a half of delivering the news - sharing this community's achievements, struggles, births, weddings, tributes to loved ones who have passed, celebrations and much more.
That is 150 years of the Goulburn Post documenting life and times of this community. When we reflect on the history of Goulburn over the past 150 years, much of the details are recorded in the pages of the Goulburn Post. We have recorded history and we are a key part of that history.
The ability of the Goulburn Post to record the news and photos of the past 150 years has only been made possible by a supportive community. The same will be true for the next 150 years. Thank you to all who have been with us on the journey so far, and to those who continue with us into the future.
