The documentary 'The Goulburn Story - The Making of a City' has been made by a former Goulburn journalist Paul Michaels as a "tribute to the city and people of Goulburn".
"'The Goulburn Story - The Making of a City' is a wide-ranging history of the making of the City of Goulburn, the good times and the bad, the colourful characters and the rich architectural legacy bequeathed to today's modern city," a post by Mr Michaels on social media reads.
"It is a story of the city's past and present, and how the past will continue to influence its future."
Mayor Bob Kirk, in the documentary, says the accessibility is driving the latest wave of growth in the community.
At least 60 buildings, homes, churches and properties in the city find a mention in the state and national heritage registers.
"The visitors in the area come to admire the buildings of historical significance in the community which have been retained as a source for tourism. In that respect, the history will play an important role into the future," he says.

The video shares the journey of Goulburn throughout the 19th and 20th century. It states that agriculture was the main source of livelihood and wheat, maize, barley and oats were few of the crops that were grown extensively at that time, the video reveals.
It shares how that at the turn on 20th century, Goulburn played a role in the Suffragette movement to give women the right to vote and in 1918, how Spanish flu affected the city in which 42 people died.
The documentary reveals that the district had been identified from the beginning as one which is ideally suited for sheep industry due to abundance of grasses and favourable nature of climate for the production of wool.
It also mentions landmarks like the iconic 'Rambo' statue, the highest security supermax prison, railways, Belmore Park and more.
