There's a chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe one is heading to the Southern Tablelands region this weekend.
With a 90% chance of showers on Saturday, October 23, these are most likely to happen in the afternoon and evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said it could be a big thunderstorm and the rain may continue on for quite some time.
"There looks to be a few wet days ahead," spokesperson for the BOM said.
"As early as tomorrow morning we could see showers and thunder roll through. It's more likely to hit in the afternoon, evening time.
"There is a risk some thunderstorms in the region could become severe. That's not a definite by any stretch, but there is a chance.
"We will be keeping an eye on that and issuing thunderstorm warnings if need be."
It is suggested to visit the Bureau of Meteorology web page at: www.bom.gov.au/nsw for updates throughout the weekend.
"In terms of rainfall, it looks that it will be heavier out Goulburn way," spokesperson for the BOM said.
"It will depend on what kind of thunderstorm will and that will determine the amount of rainfall. As we know thunderstorms can be hit and miss.
"But Goulburn looks favourable for heavier rain. Around 10-30 millimetres.
"Bowral will most likely see less and more in the 10-20 millimetre area."
Don't expect it to be pouring all day. There could be sections of the day where you can quickly get some weekend chores done without a drenching.
"It's not likely to be steadily raining on Saturday, October 24," spokesperson for the BOM said.
"There could be patches of dry throughout the day. But, showers towards the end of the day will change that."
Sunday, October 25 will see cool changes, but with less chance of rainfall.
"Around midnight on Sunday, October 25, there should be a cool change over the region," spokesperson for the BOM said.
"Sunday's temperatures will be considerably cooler than Saturday. Saturday will see a top of 21 and rain.
"Sunday will see Bowral struggling to get into double digits and hit nine degrees.
"Goulburn will hit about 12 degrees. There will be some showers still about, but not as much rain. Expect five to 10 millimetres."
Rain is expected to fall deep into next week.
