As a born-and-bred Goulburn girl, The Goulburn Post has marked the milestones of my life. I first made the front-page when I was born - at three-months premature I was Goulburn's smallest baby. When I was six-years-old I made the front page again, this time as a rosy-cheeked kindergarten kid on her first day of school.

Along the years the paper continued to be a record of my life and the community around me. Births, engagements and funeral notices - and even the time my dad caught a 218kg blue marlin - were all printed in it's pages.

As a child the newest edition of The Goulburn Post always rested on the dining table at my great grandparents' house. Before I was interested in reading it, I would draw moustaches on photos and fold the paper into a pirate hat. When I finally started to pay attention to the words - the paper became my first insight into journalism.
I started a permanent position at The Goulburn Post in February, 2020. It was there that I met a team of people dedicated to our city and to the people who make it special.
For the past 150 years The Goulburn Post has served as a record of people's lives and helped form the region into the community it is today. Generations of families have grown up reading The Post - the familiar feel of paper between fingers and the weight of pages in hand has been passed down for a century-and-a-half.
