The galleries volunteers, led by president Margaret Carr, have said they are excited to return to the gallery and welcome its visitors. While the permanent collection can be seen online, it usually holds four exhibitions a year, as well as opening for special shows and workshops.
They will return with the Art On the Range exhibition, which includes the show and sale of contemporary and traditional artwork, as well as sculpture and photography. Artists have until November 20 to enter.
Held every two years, the show attracts artists from around the Southern Tablelands, South Coast and regional NSW areas.
This year, the show will be opened by Bradley Hammond, director of the Orange Regional Art Gallery. Hammond was appointed director in 2016, and he has worked as the collections manager at the gallery since 2011, and prior as an education and public programs officer at the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
Hammond will be judging one of two prizes on offer for artists, including $500 for the best in show award, and $100 for the people's choice award which will be voted on by the public.
Following the opening night of the show, the exhibition can be viewed on the gallery's website and Facebook.
