A male inmate has been charged by the Criminal Groups Squad following investigations into alleged threats made to a woman to harm her and her children.

On Sunday, October 25, the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad commenced an investigation following information from Corrective Services NSW that an inmate had made threats over the phone to a 45-year-old woman who is known to him.
Following inquiries, detectives attended a correctional facility in Goulburn and arrested a 42-year-old man about 1.30pm yesterday.
He was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend and served with a Provisional Apprehended Violence Order.
Police will allege in court that the man threatened to kill the woman and her children.
The 42-year-old was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday, December 9 before being returned to the custody of Corrective Services NSW.
Criminal Groups Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Robert Critchlow said criminal behaviour will not be accepted regardless of where you are.
"Here we have a man, who we will allege that despite being behind bars following a life of crime, seems determined to continue to commit offences," Detective Superintendent Critchlow said.

"Once again, we are having to remind these criminals that it doesn't matter where you are, whether you are at home, on the street or in this case in jail, if you step out of line, we will be there to deliver the consequences.
"And we are not alone, we will continue to work with our partners, such as Corrective Services NSW, to ensure illegal activities are met with arrests, charges and prosecution."
