Last month, SNSWLHD chief executive Margaret Bennett said detailed designs for the $2.5 million upgrade, which includes the emergency department, were continuing.
In June, the final designs were being selected, she said. The final plans will need to be approved by health authorities, however the project "remains on track for completion by mid-2021."
it is expected that following a tender process the construction could take between eight to ten months, according to the SNSWLHD.
"All work is progressing as anticipated with some minor delays experienced due to ensuring compliance with Covid-19 measures," a spokesperson for the health district said.
The upgrade is being wholly funded by the NSW Government. Meanwhile, early works at the Wellness Centre and the Hutton Wing were funded by the health district, .
"It's exciting to see upgrades to the Wellness Centre at Crookwell Hospital finished," Ms Bennett said. The upgrades included a new patient kitchen, vinyl floor coverings, shower facility upgrades, door widening and external ramp access.
"Local contractors have been appointed for the early works in the main hospital (Hutton Wing) which include relocations and improvements to the records storage area, office fitouts and an upgrade to the medication room," she said.
It is anticipated that the existing roof repairs which were damaged in a hail storm would also be completed during the construction of the emergency department.
