According to a NSW Police spokesperson in April 2020, Strike Force Hatchetfish was established by detectives from The Hume Police District to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Goulburn area.
Following extensive investigations, strike force officers arrested a man and woman at a home in Goulburn on November 11.
The police operation began shortly after 8am, with search warrants executed at a home on Kinghorne Street and a storage facility located in Robinson Street, Goulburn. Local police were assisted by officers from the Public Order Riot Squad and Dog Unit.
During the searches, officers located and seized a large quantity of power tools believed to be stolen, a Mitsubishi Triton utility, three motorbikes, 'ice' and cash.
These items will undergo forensic examination.
A 42-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
Police will allege the pair supplied 'ice' throughout the Goulburn area on multiple occasions.
It's further alleged the woman falsely represented a woman that was known to them, in order to name the man as the beneficiary of a funeral insurance policy. Police will allege the man falsely claimed an $8,000 payment in August, 2020.
It's further alleged the pair concealed information about a stabbing and kidnapping in Goulburn in August, 2020.
The pair were refused bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court today.
Investigations under Strike Force Hatchetfish are continuing.
