In Goulburn, Santa snaps at Harvey Norman have been ruled out.
However, Goulburn Square will still deliver some Christmas magic and Santa will be on his throne from November 28.
The mall has partnered with photographer's Christmas Memories for this year's Santa photos.
Families can continue the Christmas tradition of Santa photos at the mall, albeit with the introduction of a Covid-19 safety plan.
This year, due to social distancing family members will not be able to high-five Santa, sit on the throne next to Santa, or sit on Santa's knee.
Social distancing rules will mean that all family members will need to remain 1.5 metres from Santa and the elves, and Santa will not be able to nurse younger children or babies.
It also means bookings need to be made in advance to limit the number of family visits at the one time.
Photographers prepare for a Covid-19 safe Christmas

"We have them [Santa and families] seated at opposite ends of the set," she said.
"He [Santa] will be facing the queue to greet people as they come in. This means that people can still have a chat", she said.

But, she said, while the logistics of Santa photos has changed the demand was very, very high this year.
"People, in general, want it to happen," she said.
