Lewis is a former Gunning resident and was awarded the Upper Lachlan Shire Young Citizen of the Year in 2011.
Lewis is singing as part of the Barayagal Choir, an intercultural collective of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The choir brings Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together to sing songs of culture and its name translates to singing mob.
"As a non-Indigenous person, it's a privilege to learn and sing about Country," she said.
Also performing is an Australian rock legend, Paul Kelly. Kelly will be singing his tribute to Dr Perkins, A Bastard Like Me, which is also the name of Dr Perkins' autobiography.
