Throughout the state during last year's bushfires, firefighters did it tough, including those at Towrang RFS.
They were officially recognised on Saturday, November 14 alongside Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman as part of the NSW government's way to thank those involved.
Towrang RFS president Matt Whittaker said his crew definitely had their work cut out for them.
"The effort put in from across the whole team was phenomenal," Mr Whittaker said.
"The crew were 200 per cent more busy than they had ever been."
The workload for this summer is expected to quieten down.
