The corruption trial against former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has been suspended shortly after it commenced, French media reports say.

The decision was made following a request by Gilbert Azibert, one of the other defendants, that the trial be postponed for personal health reasons.
He was not in court on Monday.
In response, the court paused the trial until Thursday and ordered a medical report on Azibert, news channel BFMTV reported.
The 73-year-old is a former advocate general at the Court of Cassation, the country's highest court.
The case concerns accusations that Sarkozy tried to bribe Azibert for secret information about a separate Sarkozy-linked investigation concerning campaign financing.
