There are several special items available in stores across town which you can gift to your loved ones.
Brooke McPherson from 'Something Special Gifts & Homewares' feels that coming to the end of 2020 has given everyone a reason to celebrate a bit more than usual.
"I am seeing trends toward more practical gifts (such as quality hand wash and lotions from all the sanitising) as well as gifts to make use of all that extra time spent at home like jigsaw puzzles, games, cocktail glasses and crystal stemware," she said.
"Personally, I love buying an extra special Christmas ornament each year to add to the tree and we have some gorgeous decorations available. We have delicious handmade chocolates available for someone who has everything. And of course, we have the usual high-quality Australian made candles and home fragrance products that are always a winner. Complimentary gift wrapping is available in store as well."
If you are looking to enjoy top drops, head to the Kingsdale Winery on Crookwell Road with your family and friends and enjoy one of the finest range of wines.
"Our Orange Liqueur Wine goes perfectly with the Christmas pudding. The 2020 Shiraz Rose, the only wine made from our 2020 vintage, is our brand new wine and makes a perfect gift as well," Elly Spark said.
"The 2015 Emma Shiraz, which is matured in predominantly French oak, with blackberry fruit aromas, delicate vanilla and nutmeg overtones and a soft finish."
Meanwhile, Geoff Maguire, owner of Best Buys are expanding their ranges to make the Christmas time even more special. "We already have a good range of stock and are adding more ornaments and party goods as well while maintaining the discount pricing too," he said.
The store was opened by Mr Maguire and his wife Wanita this year after Dimmeys decided to close the store. He has been working at the Dimmeys since 1996 after moving to Goulburn from Geelong. The iconic three-storey building was bought by Tony Lamarra and his wife Adriana for $5,025,000.
Like most of the local business, they were hit hard because of COVID-19. "Because of the location and love of the locals, it has made us stay where we are. After COVID-19 hits us all, we were thinking about whether we should close down or continue and we decided to stay on and are now planning to expand the business as well," he said.
