Embark on the self-led Gruffalo Spotters Trail available every day of the school holidays at Illawarra Fly, using the free Gruffalo Spotters 2 app.
Each character will come to life through Augmented Reality and visitors can explore the latest features of the app including video recording, interactivity with the characters and selfie mode.
Then, every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday of the holidays, meet The Gruffalo himself onsite at Illawarra Fly.
Available at 11.30am and 1.30pm, The Gruffalo will be at the start of the Treetop Walk to say hello, take photos with and hand out special stickers.
The app and trail are based on the best-selling picture book, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
Mixing animated characters with the real-world environment, children are encouraged to use their imagination, get exploring and feel immersed in a fun forest experience.
All content captured can be saved and shared using the #GruffaloSpotters hashtag.
And anyone interested in a Zipline tour is encouraged to book with spots filling up fast.
Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures is located at 182 Knights Hill Road Knights Hill and is open daily 10am - 5pm (last entry 4pm).
The Gruffalo experience is included in price of Treetop Walk and will be available from December 19 to January 26, 2021.
The cost will be adults from $22.50 and children from $13.50.
The Zipline Tour (includes Treetop Walk) will be adults from $67.50 and children from $40.50
