The seminar is for adolescents undertaking HSC or tertiary study, and the people who support them. It explores the what, why and most importantly the how of calming our children and especially our rapidly transforming adolescents. The bumpy ride to adulthood can be challenging at times.
Maggie explores stress and ways for adolescents to understand and help each other to navigate big ugly feelings, 'ANT' attacks (automatic negative thoughts), failure and disappointment.
She also explores great ways to calm and relax that will help adolescents to study better, think better and take the high road rather than the low road on the journey to being an adult.
"Completing your HSC or moving into study at University or TAFE can be an exciting but stressful time for young people," Goulburn Mulwaree Library manager Erin Williams said.
"This seminar will help young people and the adults in their lives look at ways to manage stress and develop improved resilience to see them through the difficult times".
The event will begin at 3pm on Wednesday, January 27. The session is free, but bookings are essential and can be made online here, in person at the Library, or by calling on (02) 4823 4435.
