The work on the major upgrade of Goulburn Marketplace shopping centre on Verner Street is on in full swing.

Steven Lacey, CEO of Lederer Group which is is undertaking the work, said that upgrade work will take place in three stages and it is likely to be completed by the end of 2021.
"The idea behind the expansion is to provide shoppers at Woolworths a one-stop location. There was a big demand for additional retail in the area so we have added services that were not present earlier," he said.
"We have also tried to ensure that it's convenient for shoppers. So, in the first stage, we expanded the car park which is close to the shops."

Lederer Group has plans to expand the existing facility to a total area of 5843 square meters which will include the existing area and and addition of new space.
An additional arcade area of 468 square meters will also be a part of the expansion plan. A total of 17 new and existing stores will be at the marketplace.
The Lederer Group has lodged a Development Application (DA) with Goulburn Mulwaree Council for a significant expansion and modernisation of the shopping centre in 2017.
Mr Lacey had earlier said the store upgrades would give shoppers more quality and choice.
The plans included relocation of existing pharmacy to a bigger premises, new amenities, speciality shops, outdoor dining areas, outdoor children's play area and expanded car park to name a few.
Located on Verner Street, Goulburn Marketplace is a short distance away from the Goulburn Railway Station and has Woolworths and ALDI supermarkets in addition to several specialty stores.
