"I came to look around town and could see a future here for my wife and kids," Mr Adams said.
"I'm glad I made the move because I made so many friends."
The former consultant in Canberra started working part time at the church two years ago until he quit his job last Easter.
"The former minister at the church I used to go to in Canberra asked me if I would take the role and I agreed," Mr Adams said.
"I was started pretty much when COVID-19 stopped everything."
The father of three is the pastor of the church, so he leads from the front.
"My role is to care for people in church, teach them and to lead them in terms of direction."
The pastor replacing Reverend George Medvedsky grew up in London, but moved to Canberra in December, 2008 to marry his wife Janette.

Their children Phillip and Emily go to St Josephs Primary School while their youngest, Joshua Adams, is still in preschool.
He is currently studying a Masters of Divinity at Christ College in Sydney.
Church goers gather together online and in-person every Sunday morning at 10am.
