News that Goulburn would host the final was announced on Friday morning in a press release from the Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
It comes after Goulburn also hosted the southern pool stages of the tournament, which saw four teams descend on the town in November last year.
Of the four sides, Riverina was the clear standout with three wins from three matches. Newcastle, meanwhile, has had a tougher road to the grand final with two wins and a loss.
Though Central Coast had the same win-loss record as Newcastle, the latter claimed top spot in the Northern Pool thanks to a bonus point.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council mayor, Bob Kirk, was pleased that Goulburn was set to host the prestigious match.
"The Southern Pool of the Country Championships was a great event in November last year, with beautiful weather and a high standard of Cricket," Cr Kirk said.
"We continue to build our reputation as a premier destination for sporting events in regional NSW, and look forward to welcoming the competitors and supporters on the 21st of February."
Though Riverina is currently on a three-match winning streak, Newcastle has the advantage of experience on its side.
The Northern Pool winners have won three of the last six Country Championship titles, including the 2019/20 edition, while this will be Riverina's first final for over 25 years.
Chair of Country Cricket NSW, Paul Marjoribanks, said Goulburn is a deserving host.
"We're excited to be bringing the Final to Goulburn after hosting preliminary matches there in previous years," Marjoribanks said.
"Both the Goulburn Cricket Association and Goulburn Mulwaree Council have been very supportive of the Country Cricket Championships. The recent improvements to the facilities in Goulburn make for a great playing environment."
Over the last two years, a number of upgrades have been made to Seiffert Oval. These include new floodlights, the new Ken Robson Pavilion, and renovations on the grandstand.
These, combined with the high quality of the wicket, have drawn an increased number of representative games to Goulburn in recent years.
The NSW Country Championship grand final will take place at Seiffert Oval on Sunday, February 21, from 10am.
