The organisers and volunteers of the Goulburn Show are busy with the preparations as the date of the event is fast approaching. The work on setting up the Showgrounds for the event, which will be held on March 6 and 7, will begin next week. One of the volunteers, Priyanka Karthik, is helping with the arrangements for the event. "I wanted to give back to the community and hence decided to volunteer. People have been very warm and welcoming, and have made me feel at home," she said. She is currently waiting to clear her exams and looks forward to setting up her practice as a dentist in Goulburn. Ms Waugh thanked all the volunteers for helping them with the show. "It's a community event and we can't run it without our volunteers," she said. She also urged everyone to come along on the day of the event and be a part of the Goulburn Show that has been running since 1880. "You will have a great time as there is something for both adults and children in this show. We have a plan in place to make the event Covid safe," she said. The range of attractions this year includes pig racing, the reptile show and the petting farm. The Pavilion will also have the finest artwork, fruit, quilting, flowers and vegetables. It may also include various competitions including Woodchop, Young Farmers Challenge, Showgirl/Showman and Speedshear.
