Members were involved in exhibiting and assisted with stewarding and other activities.
The NSW Farmers Goulburn Branch sponsored the Young Farmer Challenge at the show, and members, together with RSM Dave Banham, assisted in running this farm skills event.
It was wonderful to see two senior and six junior teams compete and to complement International Women's Day last Monday, as some of the teams were made up young women.
Our thanks to the schools that entered teams that performed extremely well.
It was pleasing to see NSW Farmers also celebrating all the wonderful women in agriculture and regional communities in NSW on International Women's Day.
NSW Farmers CEO Pete Arkle said women play a vital role at NSW Farmers, from board members to committee chairs in the association's membership, and policy, communications, IT, finance and regional staff.
Six of the NSW Farmer's committees are chaired by women, including all the extensive livestock committees, which include cattle, sheepmeat, goats and wool.
Locally, many rural women are involved in leadership positions and running farm business enterprises.
"It is a special opportunity to mark their leadership in a field that has historically been associated with men," Mr Arkle said.
"We're proud to advocate on behalf of the many farm enterprises that are partly or fully operated by women, and it's promising to see more accurate representation filter through with the appointment or election of more and more women to industry leadership roles."
