But primary school students enjoyed a taste of what life is like at Goulburn High recently.
The school held its first Focus Day where they were able to experience some of the subjects on offer at Goulburn High School.
The Goulburn High School transition focus days are one part of a comprehensive transition program that includes school visits, taster days, as well as the state-wide orientation day in November.
They are a great way for Year 6 students to familiarise themselves with the high school environment.
They are able to begin making connections with staff and students to help make the transition to high school as comfortable as possible.
Students took part in Agriculture, Music and HSIE activities throughout the day and had a great time.
They did outdoor navigation with the compasses, looked at different historical artifacts, learned how to handle animals at the school farm and worked on a music piece as individuals and then came together to play it as a group.
At the next Focus Day in Term 2, students will get the chance to try metal and woodwork, art, photography, drama and languages.
