At the time of writing many roads were still closed. This also impacts on the ability to do business, to get the health appointments and a variety of other important activities we normally take for granted.

Please don't drive through flooded roads. That message should be well and truly etched into every Australian's mind by now, and yet some people still cross flooded areas, still move road closure signs so they can go past them.
Rescuing these people puts the lives of SES and other emergency personnel at risk, and also diverts resources away from places of greater need... so please, be careful in these conditions and remember to reach out to those worst affected when the flooding has passed.
Schools score new roofs
Four Upper Lachlan schools are among 19 across the Goulburn electorate that are receiving new roofs from the state government's $60 million Roof Replacement Program.
This is great news for Crookwell High School, Bigga Public School, Laggan Public School and Crookwell Public School, providing better heating conditions and building upkeep, and also a very helpful boost to the local economy.
The program will utilise the Local Trades Scheme, a new online platform that lets local trades people engage directly with government to bid for maintenance work at schools in their local communities.
The government is to be commended for investing in this very practical way in school maintenance and supporting local businesses.
Extraordinary meeting
Councillors will meet on Tuesday, March 30 for a closed extraordinary meeting. In case that title is confusing, an "extraordinary" meeting simply means it's an additional meeting to the council's ordinary monthly meeting.
The meeting is closed, which is the usual process for discussions and decisions relating to tenders. Details of the meeting will be advised shortly afterwards, as they are with ordinary forums.
