Organiser Andrew Mewburn said after the finals that the competition had gone exceedingly well, particularly considering the sheer volume of unknowns they had to deal with due to COVID-19.
"It's been a great season," Mewburn said.
"It's been a bit different with the 30 ,inute touchdown turnaround instead of the two 20-minute halves and the five-minute halftime.
"We've still had the good numbers that we like to see, good games, good touch."
With roughly 15 teams in the men's divisions and 11 in the women's divisions, Mewburn said the turnout was actually comparable to a regular, non COVID-impacted season.
One change that was pleasant to see on Monday night was the presence of crowds at the finals. Throughout the season, players were required to leave Carr Confoy as soon as their matches were over to adhere to COVID protocols.
During finals, the players were allowed to hang around and watch, which resulted in more vocal support for the players and a partial return to normalcy.
Despite the new rules in place this season, the standard of touch football was still very high, particularly among the higher divisions.
"The standard's been really good," Mewburn said.
"We were really lucky we got to play Premier League last year in Canberra, with a men's and a women's team. We had the men's final here, and the majority of the Pina Coladas team were part of that Goulburn team that played in Canberra and won at the end of last year.
"There's a few other players spread around, there's a couple in the Bohars team, and they brought that touch experience back and it made our Men's Division One competition really strong."
Mewburn also made a point of thanking the competitors for their dedication to the association and their adherence to the COVID safety protocols throughout the season.
