Debbie Carey, managing director at Richardson & Wrench, confirms that there is a strong interest in the rental market here.
"My last listing received strong interest and the property was leased within 24 hours. The turnaround time to rent a property is much quicker now. As the demand is higher than supply, the prices of some of the properties have also gone up," she said.

She said that there have been enquiries for bigger properties in Goulburn like a four-bedroom one, and with new developments like the ones off Marys Mount Road and St Joseph's Gate, they will be able to meet the demands for such properties.
Debbie added that high prices in Sydney and Southern Highlands property markets are driving people to look for properties in other areas like Goulburn.
"They find that renting a property in Goulburn is more convenient as it is located at a short distance from these cities. There are several others who are looking for a better lifestyle and that's why they are looking for rentals to relocate here. Most of them are looking to rent before they buy a property," she added.
Meanwhile, Sandy Dawson from Graeme Welsch real estate agency has also seen a big demand for rental properties in the city.
The property manager further said that the median rent prices for a property in Goulburn start from $350-400.
"We have been receiving a lot of enquiries and applications from those who are working between Canberra and Sydney," she said.
"These days, once a rental property is available in the market, it doesn't take much time before someone rents it," she said.
The close proximity of Goulburn to cities like Sydney and Canberra makes it an ideal choice for some to relocate.
