Council also resolved to investigate ways in which further recycling and composting can be promoted and supported.

On March 16, a workshop with councillors where they were informed about the results of green waste collection for the preceding 12 month period and briefed on extending this service from 9-12 months.
The cost of the service is being absorbed by Domestic Waste Management (DWM) cash reserves since 2019.
A council report has observed that the green green-waste service was received well by the residents.
"During summer months grass clippings are more frequent but during the winter months garden pruning occurs which increases the need for continued green-waste services," the report states.
"Therefore it is recommended that Council extend this service to 12 months of the year with fortnightly pickup to remain in place."
