Share the Dignity believe that access to sanitary items is a right, not a privilege and that no one should ever have to choose between eating and taking control of their period.
Share the Dignity are passionate about empowering people to live a life of dignity and safety, and to achieve this the charity has developed the revolutionary Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machine that dispenses FREE period packs containing six tampons and two pads.
Each Pinkbox is programmed with a delivery delay of 10 minutes to ensure that no period packs are wasted.
A Pinkbox has now been installed in the accessible toilet at Goulburn Mulwaree Library, located at 184 Bourke St.
The location of the Pinkbox means that anyone can easily and discretely access a free period pack when they need it.
The library is open seven days a week, allowing people to access these resources at a time that suits them.
The library's Adult Programs and Outreach Officer Susan McIlroy said "We were excited by the opportunity to host a Pinkbox at the Library when Share the Dignity contacted us.
"The Library is a welcoming space that is open to all, so those needing discrete help managing their period can easily access the Library to get the assistance they need using Pinkbox.
"The Library is also open on weekends, during school holidays, and after 5pm, meaning that it is available when other locations and services are not."
The Pinkbox and period packs are provided and paid for by Share the Dignity, through generous donations.
A local 'Shero' volunteer will assist with the ongoing restocking of the Pinkbox.
