They did superbly well at the Australian Stock Horse Society's National Show in Tamworth from April 16-24.
Cole won the open challenge with his horse Brandwood Arizona.
He said that was the biggest highlight of the event.
"I join nearly every year, but I have never won the open comp before," Cole said.
"It was a massive achievement."
The open challenge tests the ability and temperament of horses aged five years and older over four sections.
In another event, the Moxeys and their Acres Mercury mare Hunter View Oaks Venus, who have made Brisbane Grove their home and base for breeding and training, came second in the National Futurity section.
They had to ride their horses in a hack, work, station and utility pattern.
Cole's horse Brandwood Orlando also had success, winning the Maturity Series.
Overall, Cole said it was a fantastic experience.
"Going there, I didn't really expect to do as well as I did because there are always a lot of competitors," he said.
The Moxeys train their horses throughout the year and join agriculture shows as well.
